what's involved
You sit down and completely relax for 20 minutes while breathing into a mask which measures your oxygen consumption.
Data relating to your energy expenditure is collected (sampling happens every second) via the face mask VO2 analyser and wahoo heart rate strap.
The following metabolic, gas exchange and ventilation measures are collected:
- VO2.
- HR and HRV.
- Ve, Rf and Tv.
- FeO2(%) and Ve/Vo2.
Your resting (and daily) energy expenditure is then accurately determined.

what do i need to know
In order to achieve accurate results, prior to testing you must:
fast for at least 4 hours.
Avoid caffeine and other stimulants that day.
Avoid intense exercise that day, and try to limit exercise the day of the test.
