Train smart NOT hard and you wont succumb to overtraining. Listen to your body and make note of these early warning signs and symptoms:
- Extra tired/washed -out
- Pain in joints
- Unexplained drop in performance/intensity
- Headaches
- Unexplained moodiness/irritability
- Anxiety
- Lack of enthusiasm for training
- Loss of appetite
- Increased number of colds/sore throats
An easy way to self manage your training is to know your resting HR. If it happens to be 5-10beats higher than normal when rising it’s probably best to skip that hard training session you had planned that day – go for a walk instead.
