Do you want your workout to be worth the time, money and effort?
Then remember: High intensity exercise burns more body fat than steady state cardio training!
Just ask the following researchers:
Trembblay A, Simoneau JA, Bouchard C. (1994). Impact of Exercise Intensity on Body Fatness and Skeletal Muscle Metablism, Metabolism. 43(7): 814-818.
They found that when comparing a high intensity interval training (HIIT) group and a endurance training (ET) group, over a 20 week training period, that the HIIT group lost over 3 times as much body fat as the ET group despite expending less than half as many calories!!!
Higher intensity = greater calories burnt = greater absolute fat calories burnt!
Need more reasons to choose high intensity training ahead of steady state cardio training?
Here are just a few others:
Improves time efficiency
Increases enzymes in fat burning
Increases aerobic capacity
So if you’re serious about improving your health and performance your exercise program must incorporate an element of high intensity.
