Every two years after the age of 25, the average person gains 1kg of body weight yet loses 0.4kg of muscle.
What does this mean? Well unfortunately this causes our resting metabolism to decrease @ approximately 2% to 5% every decade after 25 years of age (Keyes et al. (1973) and Evans and Rosenberg (1992)).
